Meet The Ensemble

Jazz Nebula concerts are curated by the Artistic Executive Director, John Charles Reid, and are led by the principal musicians of the ensemble: John Reid, Kim Szabo, Jon Day, and John Gray. These have tended to focus on The Great American Songbook or the great jazz composers and has always involved an aspect of Canadian music. The ensemble takes various configurations, usually quartet or quintet, and involves a varying cast of characters drawn from the excellent pool of musicians in Calgary, Alberta.

The season generally kicks off with a larger, often ten-piece group that is directed by John Gray and in past, paid tribute to Ray Charles, and the Motown record label.
